Build and run a modelSimulate it numerically, then validate against real or published data sets.

Test it against realityWhere possible, run a physical experiment to confirm or challenge your model's predictions.

Write it up properlyA structured paper with methodology, results, and a defended conclusion, not a poster.

Scoping & literature review
Narrow your topic into a testable question and review what's already known about it.
WK 3 to 5
Model construction
Build your simulation or analytical model with your mentor reviewing assumptions weekly.

Testing & validation
Run experiments or compare against real datasets; revise the model based on what you find.
WK 9 to 11
Writeup & defense prep
Draft the full paper and prepare to defend your methodology and conclusions to your mentor.
WK 12
Final review
Present your finished work, ready to submit to a science fair, journal, or college application.
